Harrisburg is famous as the capital of the whole Pennsylvania Commonwealth, The United States of America. According to the census of 2000 the population of the Harrisburg city is 48,950. The Harrisburg city lies on the east bank of the Susquehanna River and is barely 105 miles west from the north-west Philadelphia.

City Island also is home to savory eats and sweets, quaint shops, miniature golf, a restored carousel, train and carriage rides. And at summer's end, the riverfront Kipona Celebration boasts one of the oldest continuously operating inland festivals, including arts and crafts, a puppet theater and the renowned Pennsylvania Chili Cookoff.
Another major PA city is Philadelphia, the largest city in the state. It is one of the most important cultural commercial and educational hubs of the United States. The city has a glorious past and had been the first capital of United States, in the 18th century. It was also the second largest city in the British empire. In the early days of America's independence, Philadelphia held a more powerful position than New York City and Boston. The seeds of American independence had also been sown in this city. As a result of its grand past, Philadelphia has been a witness to many upheavals in the history of USA. The grand buildings of the past has now been transformed into places of interest for tourists. The city of Philadelphia, is often referred to as “Philly” by the local residents.
Pittsburgh is the second largest city of Pennsylvania and also acts as the county seat of Allegheny county. The city is built on the confluence of the Allegheny and the Monongahela rivers. These two rivers join to form the Ohio river. The city of Pittsburgh is more famous for its skyline than anything else. The skyline of Pittsburgh has about a hundred and fifty skyscrapers, moreover, Pittsburgh also has a total of 446 bridges, which is an amazing number for a single city. For this reason, the city of Pittsburgh, is often referred to as the “bridge capital” of USA, or even the “city of Bridges”. Pittsburgh is one of the major cities to have influenced the economy and culture of the entire Ohio Valley Region.
